We are looking for Support staff who would like to work with children and adults with Learning disabilities, Autism who may present with challenging behaviour.

Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities/Autism AND challenging behaviour is essential - 1year minimum. In your CV/Cover letter please provide as much detail regarding relevant experience (including knowledge/experience involving non-verbal communication) as possible.

A successful candidate will be required to support clients with all aspects of every day life including accompanying them when attending community activities, taking them to school/college, feeding etc whilst maintaining their independence as much as possible and aim to provide them with high quality of life. He/She will also be required to support clients if/when they present with challenging behaviour. Each client is unique (has different level of need) therefore support required will be agreed on individual basis.

Drivers prefered

We are looking for people who are patient, professional, friendly, understanding, with sense of humour, can use their own initiative and are willing to develop their knowledge by attending training provided. Effective communication skills are crucial.
