Quality Assurance Manager (Food). c£30K plus benefits. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Laboratory and assisting the Technical Manager in the maintenance and implementation of the Quality Manual, the HACCP manual, site systems and procedures, customer and third party audits. Principal Duties include:- Management of raw material quality standards; Management of packaging quality standards; Manage the QA function in all aspects of production & transport, including new product, equipment trials and special projects; Ensuring that all finished product complies with customer specifications and GMP. Investigation and analysis of out of spec results and customer complaints, providing corrective action; The use of effective reporting systems and KPI's in respect of the above; The development and management of an effective, cohesive QA team through performance management; Conducting internal site audits and external supplier audits; Deliver and co-ordinate on site training for Food Hygiene; Deputise for Technical Manager.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a Science subject, an in-depth knowledge of Microbiology, and an understanding of Chemistry to 'A' level , diploma (or equivalent) in Food Hygiene together with a knowledge and understanding of HACCP, and be 'auditor' trained. The post holder must be highly motivated and able to work under their own initiative.
