Course Objectives:

On completion of the course, delegates will understand:

•The key principles that underpin the safe and appropriate handling of medicines and how these relate to their specific service area.
•Practical procedures and methods for handling medicines that represent good professional practice and cover all social care settings.
•General aspects of medicines management relating to specific care services.
•The medicine tool kit (policies, procedures and systems)
•How to meet the National Minimum Standards required within their specific service area.

All those involved in direct care/supervision of service users

Duration /Format

6 Hour one day course

Course requirements/notes:

Delegates are required to take active participation in the practical sessions.
Organisations are required to supply a copy of their Medication Handling Procedure prior to course commencement.
