Gift Shop Assistant manager assists the manager in maintaining day-to-day operations of onboard Gift Shop, which requires the daily opening, manning of, and closing of the Gift Shop. Stocking, merchandising and re-merchandising of inventory. Requisition of merchandise. Assisting passengers and coordinating onboard activities, such as daily sales, fashion shows and other various activities throughout the cruise. Responsible for sales generation and daily operation of retail outlets using Universal Service Standards to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.
College level business and/or retail background or equivalent. Ability to read, write and speak English. Strong math aptitude a plus. Previous merchandising and/or store display knowledge. Ability to interact with passengers in a pleasant, professional and polite manner; multi-tasking a must. Excellent communication skills a requirement.
OVERVIEW
* Verifies cash bank; responsible for large amounts of cash onboard
* Creates store and window displays
* Merchandises and re-merchandises product
* Records daily sales and cash reports
* Responsible for replenishing stock daily, sometimes hourly
* Organizes and controls onboard storerooms
* Coordinates onboard activities related to Gift Shop promotions and sales
* Provides administrative support to all department heads
* Assists passengers with various requests
Salary $22000 per annum based on 2 x 6 month contracts. 6 weeks vacation in between. Successful applicants will have flights to the ship paid for by client.
You must have a valid passport with at least 2 years remaining. Start date is the beginning of December.Please include brief cover note stating why you would like to work onboard a cruise ship.
