Mental health Social Worker (Emi- South Yorkshire
Designation: Social Worker (Mental Health)
The postholder will operate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing local community based services for the elderly mentally ill. Under the management of a Team Manager (Mental Health) he/she will undertake as required a cross section of specialist fieldwork duties with individuals and families and such other tasks as he/she may from time to time be assigned.
As part of this brief the Social Worker (Mental Health) will carry out the Social Services Department's statutory responsibilities with regard to mentally disordered people under the Mental Health Act 1983. They will also undertake development work as deemed appropriate by the Team Manager with the aims of identifying need, improving current services and creating new community resources. All such activities will be carried out in close liaison with Health Service colleagues, other professionals and the voluntary sector.
Candidates must be GSCC registered and hold a current CRB check. This is a full time locum role accepting CV's immediately.
