Timea is a 26 year-old Romanian girl from Oradea, a city in the western part of Romania. She would like to come to the UK and

work as an au pair for a period of 12 months or more. She has some experience with child care as she lives at home with her niece

who is only 5 months old.

Timea completed all her studies at the Faculty of Geography in 2008 specialising in Tourism. She hasn’t taken her diploma and

graduated yet because she still has some exams left over. She works as an accountant in a meat factory, but wants to change her

job because she feels very undervalued.

She wants to be an au pair because she wants to improve her English skills and thinks that working and living in the UK will help

her a lot. She wants to earn more money and thinks that learning English is a good first step for this.

Timea likes taking pictures, listening to music, dancing, cooking and walking. She also likes going to cinema - she likes

comedies and thrillers. She likes travelling especially into the mountains.

She is a non smoker.


Childcare Experience: Timea has experience with children because she was always surrounded by children as she comes from a big

family. She looked after her sisters when their parents were away. She used to spend most of the time playing with her sisters

and making sure that they didn’t squabble. She is now helping her sister (who lives with Timea) to look after her daughter who is

5 months old. She is sometimes left alone with the baby when her sister wants to go out shopping or other places. She knows how

to feed a baby, to prepare their food, bath the baby and anything else that a baby needs. She likes cooking for children and

thinks that an interesting activity with them will be teaching them how to make buscuits and to cook Romanian food.

English Skills: Her English was good and I only had to repeat one or two questions in order for her to understand them fully.
Other languages: She speaks Hungarian (mother tongue) and Romanian.

Housework: Timea is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), care for

babies, children or older children, washing, ironing and cooking for children.

Character: Timea considers that she is a happy girl, responsible, friendly, funny, talkative, motivated and honest.
Eating: Timea usually eats anything but she doesn’t like sea food.

Driving: Timea passed her driving test in 2006. She has her own car (Renault Clio) and drives daily.

Family: She has a big family. She lives with her Mother, her Uncle, her Grandmother and 2 younger sisters. One of her sisters is

married and also lives there with her husband and her child. She also has two older brothers.
