Senior Social Worker- Youth Offending Team

Our client is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Youth Offending Team.

In this role you will make a real contribution to the prevention and reduction of offending by young people, working in partnership with a range of other agencies to reduce crime and achieve better outcomes for young people.

You will be responsible for the management, supervision and strategic developments of the youth offending service.

Professionally qualified in a relevant discipline, you will have demonstrable experience at a senior level of managing and motivating multi agency, multi disciplinary teams to achieve significant service improvements and objectives in a criminal justice or a related field.
Experience of working with young people is essential, and prior experience of working within a Youth Offending Team or similar is preferred.

This is to work within an established team – with support available
The main duties will include:
• Managing a caseload of young people
• Assisting in the supervision of YOT Support Officers
• Preparing pre-sentence reports and other court reports to national standards
• Making clear assessments in relation to risk in order to allocate appropriate and targeted resources to the reduction and prevention of youth offending

This is initially a 24 week contract position but there is a possibility of extension and even permanence depending on the progression of the employee. The pay rate for this position has been set at £25 per hour not including the various expenses.
