Job Description: Room attendant
Purpose of job: To ensure that guest bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas are cleaned in a manner that exceeds our guest’s expectations and is to the Dakota standards. To incorporate the key points of service at all times.
Responsible to: Manager on duty, supervisors & company trainers
Liaison with: All departments, employees and management
Main area of responsibilities
PRODUCT AND SERVICE QUALITY
-To ensure that duties are carried out in a quiet and efficient manner at all times
-To ensure we are striving to make every guest a repeat guest by providing excellent levels of standards at all times
-Use the appropriate materials and resources to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness (SOP and training)
-Knock twice on each room before entering, with a pause between each knock (Respect Do not disturb sign)
-Ensure lost property is labelled, bagged and handed to the housekeeping manager for safe keeping on a daily basis (safe available if valuable properties)
-Report all maintenance faults to Housekeeping manager or maintenance manager
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
-Ensure all resources and equipment are stocked and maintained to department standards, with control
-Ensure your worksheet of all tasks are completed and is signed off by yourself and your supervisor at the end of your shift
-Collect in pass key and work sheet daily
BUSINESS PROMOTION AND SALES
-Acquire knowledge to be able to provide general information on the company and its product range
-Inform department if unable to report for duty as soon as possible to enable cover to be arranged
-Suggests and demonstrates activities to increase the revenue of the business. Looks for opportunities to ensure value for money is maintained on all activities with control
HUMAN RESSOURCES AND TRAINING
-To be responsive to all training provided and to attend all training sessions
-To act as a role model to all new employees, by showing a positive approach to team spirit through excellent team support and communication
-To be supportive with the training of trainee in their area of expertise
-To attend department and staff meeting when required
TECHNICAL SKILLS & GENERAL
-To adhere to all company rules, regulations and procedures and be aware of what is going on in the business
-To communicate any potential problems to the Manager on Duty
-To ensure you’re always acting as a “team member”
-To always observe attention to detail with regards to standards
-To be aware of food hygiene requirements and standards of cleanliness
-To be aware of health & safety in your workplace
